What To Expect During Individual Therapy

  • If this is your first time or your first time in a long time it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous. I create space where you feel heard, seen, and supported. You’ll get a feel for who I am, how I work, and you’re welcome to ask questions at any point.

  • Therapy is about you and there’s no “right” way to show up. You can share as much or as little as you’d like. We’ll explore what’s working in your life, what’s feeling heavy, and what you want to gain from our work together; whether it’s peace, clarity, emotional freedom, or all of the above.

  • We’ll walk through important parts of your background, relationships, and experiences so we can begin understanding the full picture. Your history helps shape your healing path, and your therapist role is to help make connections, not assumptions.

Our Therapeutic Approach

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps shift unhelpful thought patterns.

    • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) supports emotional regulation and self-awareness.

    • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) explores how attachment and past relationships impact your present.

    • Mindfulness & Somatic Practices root you in the present and reconnect you to your body’s wisdom.

  • Culturally responsive care honors your lived experience, cultural identity, and social realities recognizing that healing happens best when therapy reflects who you are, where you come from, and the world you move through.

  • Trauma-informed therapy recognizes how past experiences shape the nervous system and relationships, and centers safety, choice, and empowerment so healing never feels rushed, forced, or re-traumatizing.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
